I’m building the AR3 with aluminum parts and I‘m stuck on page 100 where I just installed the J3 spindle retainer. After tightening the screws a lot, i accidentally stripped one of the screws, but the spindle is still decently loose, has approximately 1mm of play. I’m not sure how to recover from this situation. I also have very few tools. I’ve tried to push the spindle and retainer closer together using the mounting bracket of a vice grip and a piece of plastic to grip the spindle retainer end to avoid the shaft, but I couldn’t seem to grip it farther. I also tried to cut one of th M3x10 shorter and tighten it harder, but it doesn’t seem to make the retainer and spindle any closer. I want to take it apart and see if there’s something inside wrong but I don’t know how to recover this stripped screw... Any advice would be appreciated.

I started this build in January, working on it on and off. Now that we’re quarantined at home going to aim to finish this by the end of the summer. I have a programming background, and don’t have any experience nor the tools for building a robot so this is my build log to share my experience, challenges, and progress with you guys.
