Probably a stupid question but has anyone tried to test each motor and limit switch as the build progress rather than at the end ? I build an AR3 a few years back and overconfidently wired and closed the box as soon as the build was done - only to find out that my J3 motor had an issue and never found the courage to re-open the spaggethi bow to trouble shoot. Fast forward a few years and I decided to convert the AR3 to an AR4 MK2, ordered the motors and the new teensy. I just finished to wire J1 and I was wondering is there is any drawback to just power it up, flash the teensy and start veryfying as I build along rather than at the very end. Any thougths ?

Hi everyone, I had to put my AR3 build on pause for several months and I'm ready to come back to it after seeing the magnificent Boston Dynamics robots dance ! I mean come on we have to have AR3 shake and clap it's fingers in cadence at least ! I left my project with the build completed but not able to calibrate. One of the joint is stiff (J1), one of the joint only moves in 1 direction (J3) - and I have to troubleshoot these. But my biggest issue is that the encoders and limit switches do not seem to work. I was wondering if there is an easy way to display in the interface the value/status of the limit switches and the encoders. That would help me tremendously (or if you have to debug in the Arduino directly) Thanks in advance for your help

Hi, I was wondering if someone could share the model of solenoid air valve you are using with your pneumatic gripper. The most common I found on Amazon are the 24V 5 ports (inlet, 2 outputs, 2 vents) 1/4: NPT I haven't received my gripper yet so I'm not sure if one need a particular type of 2 way valve and if you guys managed to find fittings that will connect the 3mm air lines to these 1/4" ports Thanks in advance

HI, I was wondering if someone who built his robot could help me with the hole size for J1 turret. In the CAD files, the main 10 holes in the J1 Turret part are 6.6mm However they are supposed to be clearance holes for M6 bolts - I was going to drill them at 6mm but I noticed the hole diameter I checked and the corresponding pilot holes in J2 turret housing are indeed M5 (drill for M6 tap) Thanks in advance for your help

Hi everyone, I am starting an AR3 build in Aluminum. I purchased from Chris the hardware kit and the 3D models. I was able to import them in F360 and have spent the last week CAMing. I am planning to machine most parts on my PCNC1100 - wish me luck Here are all the stock parts I just received today the hardware kit, the motors and drivers kit. I just started sorting thru all the parts. This is a very exciting project with a lot of learning in sight. Many thanks to Chris for sharing his work and detailed instructions.
