    what is the payload of the AR3 robot arm

    why is this information hidden, anybody would want to know, seems like this question has been asked before and there was supposed to be a document on the payload and other specifications in a pdf or manual somewhere, for the life of me I could not find this file. Please make it easy to find information and please let me know where to find the info and hopefully the file or the info stays put in one place, Thanks for your kind consideration as it happens to be valuable info for the purchase of the kit. I really appreciate what you have accomplished and letting in everyone to your precious work.

    Hello, If you go to the downloads and manuals page on the website and download the "AR3 Assembly Manual" have a look at chapter 6 specifications and there is information there. The robot payload is 1.9kg or 4lbs. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide or add to the manual. thanks,

    Chris

    Chris,

    I just reviewed 10 robotic arm projects and your arm is the best one I've seen.

    Nice work!

    Can you please tell me, is the 4lbs limit for the aluminum version?

    Could it lift say 10-15 lbs if you went really slow?

    Are there any docs on what it would take to make it handle more weight?

    Is the mother the main limitation?

    Thank you for your help.

    @Systems Planet Thank you, you may be able to push 7 or 8 lbs going slow and limiting the torque or extension on joint 3 but I don't believe you will get all the way to 10-15lb range. Its Joint3 that gives up when its overloaded. It may be possible to go with a higher ratio gearbox on 3, currently its 50:1 I'll have to look and see if they have a 100:1 in that frame size.

    @Chris Annin Thanks Chris.

    Have you considered using githib to track questions/issues?
