Hi All,
After a long hiatus, I've just fired the AR-3 I built up again.
The J5 motor won't drive the shuttle on its own and is making a clicking noise when I assist it with my hand, as shown in the video.
When I turn the post that protrudes through the back of the encoder with the power off it turns just fine.
Anyone run into this issue before or know a possible culprit?
Thanks!
Duane
That sounds like a wiring issue to the motor. I could be wrong but I would double check the AABB wiring to the motor. If any of those are out of phase the motor will do strange things like that. I would start with swapping one of your cables from the enclosure to the robot and then check the wiring to the motor both from the driver to the plug and also in the base at the plug.
After lots of adjusting the mechanical parts, it moves more freely.
But as you can see, the clicking is still there.
Is this in the stepper?
Or do you think it's somewhere in the mechanics?
When I wiggle the carriage where the J5 drive shuttle runs at the J4 timing gear, it still clicks badly but seems to want to move more...
Any possible suggestions of what's going wrong here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
