    3D Printed Arm

    in General Discussion

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking at printing a AR3 arm. I am wanting to print it so the initial investment is a bit lower and if I find that I am using it, I will then get the aluminium kits. What I am wanting to know is what the strength limitations are if you print the arms? Does using more exotic filaments such as CF impregnated nylons help?

    Kind Regards,

    Sam

I've had several people reporting good results with carbon fiber filament. Im not sure what payloads people have achieved with these filaments. I have lifted 25oz. with my 3D printed arm but I never pushed the limits as I didnt want to break anything but I believe it can lift a bit more than that.

Hi Chris, thanks for that. I will give it ago and start buying all the parts I need. I see people have been commenting on using something like the Odrives. Has anyone successfully used them. I see the comments were from a while ago.
