I'm building the AR4 with my friend in Austin Texas and I was curious if anyone had ideas for practically useful behaviors we could have it do with computer vision? I was thinking of using it to change diapers safely, scoop a watermelon, cook some steak and broccoli if it's beside the ingredients and stove, make a protein smoothie if u put it beside a blender, etc... ~ Q Wangzhaoliuq@proton.me (mailto:Wangzhaoliuq@proton.me)8066545564

My #32009 bearing seems to be slightly too small for the J1 spindle to "fall" to the bottom. I put the J1 spindle into the freezer & was thinking about putting the #32009 bearing in an oven at a specific temperature to make it fit the spindle but I was curious if anyone had a better strategy? Or specific temperatures you recommend the spindle to be at in the freezer & bearing to be at in the oven as to not damage the metal parts? ~ Q wangzhaoliuq@proton.me

I'm in Austin, Texas & I was curious if anyone has tried to buy all the stepper motors, drivers, & power supply requirements from the US? If you did buy it from the link https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/ar4-robot-complete-electric-package-stepper-motor-driver-and-power-supply-ar4/?tracking=59c1139e8987b from China & you live in the US, how long did it take to ship to you? I would prefer to buy all of the motors locally at a hardware & electronics store. ~ Q wangzhaoliuq@proton.me

Hi Chris & everyone, Great project & community you have here. My background is a designer & software engineer so very excited to build AR3 with a friend & lift 2kg objects with computer vision! Question 1: I was looking at https://www.anninrobotics.com/robot-kit but confused how I can buy the parts for AR3 only. It seems like I can buy the AR2 & AR3 Aluminum Parts Kit Combo for $839 AR3 Stepper Motor, Driver, Power Supply and Bracket for $439.90 Total = $1278.90 Is it possible for me to order the AR3 Aluminum Parts kit only so the total is $439.90 + ~$839/2 ? If the shipping is from China or Germany do you have the average ship time to Texas? Question 2: I have a custom computer vision algorithm I would like to use with the AR3 for recognizing objects & manipulating them like stacking bricks for a hot tub, or organizing a messy desk. I was looking at the code ARCS.py & see a lot of python functions. My goal is I would love to be able to write python code like: ``` while cameraOn: currentCameraRGBView = getCameraView() # process the camera view to create an action or new position the robot arm should be in # where joint1Position is a number between 0 & 360 for how much it's rotated or something like this nextArmPosition = [joint1Position, joint2Position, j3, j4, j5, j6] moveArm(nextArmPosition) ``` Has anyone done anything like this successfully or interested in doing something like this? Feel free to reach out to me directly at wangzhaoliuq@protonmail.com ~ Q
