I just spent the last four days building the control box and I want to say that the build manual has been a joy to use. There is a lot of work to do but it is ordered in such a clear and rational manner that the process just flows along. If you are reading about the AR3 wondering if it is a good project to start, I can say it is a fantastic learning opportunity. Thank you Chris for your meticulous efforts. I am having a great time! Cheers, Bob Welland

Nothing exhaustive but I’ll try to include useful stuff as well as general progress. Most of the 3d printed parts ... not sure I like the colors but it was the least offensive of the filament I had sitting around

I can’t find a source for the part(s) on pp. 286 of the assembly manual. The brass fittings with orange colored push-ins shown. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I’ve built out the first two axis in my AR3. The procedure I used to set the bearing set screws has been to tighten each screw, one by one, till the bearing resists rotation. I then back off the screw a bit. I’m not really confident this is the correct approach so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pretty much all of the limit switches listed on Amazon are the same poor quality switches. The roller cage is badly made so the j2 tension ring misses the wheel altogether in my build. I’ve ordered some Omron switches from Mouser in hopes that they will be better. Much more expensive but it seems a shame to build such a nice robot and have flakey limit switches.
