Hi Guys! I created an updated video to help anyone wanting to learn inverse kinematics. The software used can also be used to control the AR.

Hello All! I created some videos that talk about inverse kinematics and how they work. Example uses the AR4 and the Javascript based control software.

Hi Guys so if you decide to use the web based control software the control box has slightly different wiring. This is a video and accompanied diagram explaining it and why. https://www.joepuzzo.com/arschematic.pdf

I understand that the goal of the AR is to be as cheap as possible however it would be so cool if it did not have to deal with the limit switches and the robot know its position at bootup. Are there some reasons @Chris Annin that it does not use them ? Have you you looked into using them before? Is it mostly a cost thing? Or were there design issues that you ran into where the cons outweighed the pros.

I have updated the control software to use acceleration and deceleration to get much smoother motions.

So I was writing the homing sequence for the web based control and wanted to mention that instead of homing J6 last ( after the robot centers ) you can simply delay the homing of J5 by around 4 seconds ( letting J6 home first ) that way the limit switch does not get hit by mistake by the wire.

Hello, So im confused about the design of the J5 tention bearing. when you "Secure the bearing post and bearing to the J5 tension block using (1) M4x14 socket head cap screw as shown" the bearing can no longer spin. Am I doing something wrong ?

Hi! I posted this in general but intended on posting it in questions so re posting here. I was wondering if you had a kinematics diagram for the AR. I see in the manual that you have some dimensions but I would like to see the distances between the center of every joint J1 ----> J2 ---> J3 ---> J4 ---> J5 ---> j6.

Hi Guys, I have been working on this for the past few months. Robot parts come in this weekend and will soon have a web based control software for the robot with wireless connection to onboard raspberry pi. Hope you enjoy and will keep progress updated :)

Hi, So I just got the stepper kit in and hooked it up to my teensy. Im running a test script and no motion on the motor. I then took a shot in the dark and hooked up the driver to a normal old arduino uno and walla motion. Am I missing something?? How are you getting the teensy to drive the motors with just 3v logic?

Hi, So in my past experience wiring steppers on previous projects I always used the +pos pins as the control pins and jumped all the negatives to ground. In this case you are using the negatives as the control pins. Any reason for that ?

Hi! So It seems each limit switch requires three wires when you can instead achieve the same via the internal pullup resistors in the teensy. See attached image and this link http://johnny-five.io/examples/button-pullup/ Why did you decide to use three wires instead of two ?
