I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't work for me on two different laptops. One is windows 11 and the other is Windows 10.

Update: I have zero issues getting the AR3 software up and running. It was a very quick and painless process. Sadly I can't provide any more insight.

I too am having the same issue as Minh Nguyen but on Windows 11 . I'm attempting to work through it now, sadly I am rather unfamiliar with using Python/CMD. Chris, could you put together a step by step in the AR4 manual for people like myself? I just want to make sure I follow the correct steps. But now that I think of it, I believe you have outlined this somewhere in one of your videos.

I have contacted these companies: -Epic Tech Sales -Oriental Motor -Arrow -AVNET -ElectroCraft -Aero Tech -IGUS.com All of which have contacted me and in some way or another are unable to provide an exact kit as the AR4 from Stepper Online.

I would like to add that when looking at it from a safety stand point, it would be great to have the option of a motor hold e-stop. Working for a large company that is focused on safety, I can say that there will be concerns regarding the arm dropping or changing position if the e-stop is activated. Thanks for looking into this Chris.

I am currently working on contacting other companies to see if they can provide a kit/bundle with the same specs as the AR4 kit. If I come across anything promising, I will be contacting Chris and I can update this post. Bear in mind that the new kits will most likely cost more.

I had the same issue Chris. I used a small internal star washer to take up the difference. Problem gone.

From the Robot Kits page. "I apologize for being out of stock, the kits have sold out very fast. My machinist tries to keep stocked up and was working on a double batch of parts so production is taking a little longer than expected. From my communications with Stepper Online. The product is shipped from China when it becomes available. After the availability date, they could stock product in the US, but by then you should have yours, I would assume.

I am going to be designing and printing my own version. But I would assume that you are not required to have the identical version. Having a vent and fan is ideal though to allow the heat to dissipate from the enclosure. The drivers do produce some heat and depending on how "hard" you are planning on running the arm, the drivers could produce more heat.

I'm not sure where you're at with inexpensive CAD programs, but I really enjoy using OnShape. It has a free and paid version. The major difference between the two is privacy. If you opt for the free version, your designs can be seen by anyone with an OnShape account if they search for it. Paid subscription is costly, but then allows for your designs to be private.
