J5 Limit swich - robot assembly

    in Questions

    Hi!

I have a problem with the J5 limit swich...

when I move the J5 motor it does not make the limit swich's button to "click" (NO TO NC), the limit swich gets "stuck" between the housing and the j5 carrier.

maybe somebody had a similar problem with this parts of the assembly?

What i understand that it is happening is that the j5 carrier get stuck when it reaches the limit swich. If I loose the screws the carrier will drag the limit switch and will get stucl betwwen the carrier and the housing.

In both cases the carrier is not moving the lever of the limit switch.

I had a similar sounding issue as well but managed to correct it. Can you post a pic or two of your J5 limit switch and the housing setup?

In the future, when you post pics, down by the blue "Answer" button there is a few icons. Simply click on the camera and your pics will upload to the forum so that people don't have to download all your pics individually.

Oh I see now. So it looks as if your J5 limit switch roller is getting stuck on the aluminum frame of the housing? Is that it?

Would it be possible for you to insert the J5 limit switch again (making sure to loosen your set screws formerly holding it place) but this time, sliding the J5 limit switch down, more towards the black belt behind it? This should allow you a bit of wiggle room in order for the lever to move freely.

I also had this problem with my build.

What I did was have my girlfriend hold the J5 limit switch in place by hand (loosening the set screws) while I moved the carrier back and fourth with my hands.

We kept adjusting the limit switch's position a little bit at a time as I would move the carrier. We eventually found a sweet spot where the carrier would travel to the end position and the limit switch's lever was pressed in.

Taking a few pics now of my J5 limit switch location to see if that'll help you position yours.

(Make sure to leave a gap between the J5 limit switch roller and the housing)
