Its a modified BSD license, there is a copy of it in the software download folder. I would love to see people utilizing the robot for use in their businesses or manufacturing operations - all I ask is that people not try to repackage and sell my software for profit and that it remain free, and I ask that no one produce and sell parts to build the AR2 robot. Let me know if that answers you question. thank you.
@Chris Annin Hello Chris, do you know Gbrlgru? This is a free program for controlling and simulating CNC machines. I would like to use the AR3 as a simplified model for simulation. A program control could possibly also be possible via the program. However, I would like your permission to do so. He has already integrated a 6-axis robot. Perhaps the program would also be of interest to others here. Kind regards Alois
Im curious about the license, currently in the process of publishing a robotics thesis that uses AR3, one of the reasons i opted to use this platform was that you could print and asemble it using "off the shelf" items and that it was free, like open source software.
One of the goals of my work is that anyone who wants can reproduce the proyect to experiment and modify as in Open source Harware.
Looking at the license im not sure if i can make such claim, the sotware is an extension of ongDexter port to ROS it has a MIT license but the arm im not sure if i can publish the stls for other researchers/students to print. i hope u can clarify this for me.
Anyways congrats for the proyect i really enjoyed building it (from the aluiminum kit) thou there is a part of me that hates you for making me solder all thouse aviation plugs and ethernet cables xD 😅 also glad you pinned Dexters proyect he has done a great work and mods.
@Luke Meier Yeah thats no problem
If I want to sell my completed AR2 in order to buy and build a new AR3 kit, is that ok? Not as a business just to fund an upgrade.
