Using the MPU-9250 with the ARM

I picked up a couple of I2C GY-9250 modules which have the MPU-9250 9-axis MEMS sensor.

There are lots of google links on how to connect to say Arduinos and report as text the acel and mag axis.

But very little on where it would be used. Although one link suggested submarines.

 

Here is one suggestion for an inclinometer.

So if I attached one to the end of the gripper for example would it be useful? Or maybe the arm? Say the arm was mounted on a tracked vehicle holding onto a cup of water. Level to arm base may be way different than level so the water doesn't run out of the cup.
