    Compatible Grippers for AR2

Hi, It will be great if we can put up list of Compatible Grippers for AR2 so that one can try various applications. Chris, I liked AR2. It's a great start. Kindly provide your input as well.

    Thanks

I am planning to try this at first because it looks affordable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OjhoVuAQkQ

This is fantastic. Let us know when you implement it.

I bought a pneumatic gripper from aliexpress. I bought the 16D and made a small mounting plate for it, but would probably recommend using a small one.

Not bad for $45. Chris also recommends one in his build that has a smaller profile but is more expensive (a similar model is also available on aliexpress)

My preference is any of the SMC pneumatic family grippers. I like the low profile MHF series but you can certainly use any gripper that you can create an adapter to mount to the robot. Some people prefer electric servo grippers but I just find they do not have the performance or force that a pneumatic gripper has.

Advice requested: procedure for setting the bearing set screws

I’ve built out the first two axis in my AR3. The procedure I used to set the bearing set screws has been to tighten each screw, one by one, till the bearing resists rotation. I then back off the screw a bit. I’m not really confident this is the correct approach so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Amazon SV-166-1C25 limit switches are of poor quality.

Pretty much all of the limit switches listed on Amazon are the same poor quality switches. The roller cage is badly made so the j2 tension ring misses the wheel altogether in my build. I’ve ordered some Omron switches from Mouser in hopes that they will be better. Much more expensive but it seems a shame to build such a nice robot and have flakey limit switches.
